Two Special Visits to NVFC: Christine Sinclair and Jesse Marsch at Fen Burdett

This fall, North Vancouver FC had the unique privilege of hosting two standout figures in the world of soccer at Fen Burdett: Christine Sinclair, the most prolific international goal scorer in the history of the game, and Jesse Marsch, the Head Coach of the Canadian Men’s National Team.

These two separate visits brought unforgettable experiences to our players and families, reinforcing the powerful role that community clubs play in the broader soccer ecosystem.

Christine Sinclair Visits in Partnership with Recycle Your Batteries

In partnership with Recycle Your Batteries, Christine Sinclair visited NVFC to share her message of sustainability and leadership with our community.

Christine greeted families, posed for photos with players, and spent meaningful time speaking with several of our BCSPL girls, offering encouragement and insight drawn from her exceptional international career. She also addressed the group, emphasizing the importance of making a difference off the field — from environmental awareness to being a positive influence in your community.

Her visit was an inspiring moment for all who attended and a reflection of the values we strive to foster at NVFC: inclusion, responsibility, and leadership through sport. Thank you to Call2Recycle and Christine for making this moment possible for our players.

Jesse Marsch Visits with MAS+ by Messi

On a separate day, Jesse Marsch visited NVFC in partnership with MAS+ by Messi, a company co-founded by Lionel Messi to promote high-performance hydration and wellness in sport.

Jesse connected with players, coaches, and families at Fen Burdett, sharing his perspective on player development, national team culture, and Canada’s exciting journey toward the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The event also featured giveaways, games, and free samples of MAS+, creating a fun and energetic environment for players and families alike.

As a leader with top coaching experience in Europe and North America, Jesse’s visit was a great opportunity for our club to engage directly with one of the key voices shaping the future of Canadian soccer.

Community, Leadership, and Inspiration

Both visits served as important reminders of how soccer can connect players at all levels, from local grassroots teams to the international stage. Christine Sinclair and Jesse Marsch brought more than just star power to Fen Burdett; they brought messages of purpose, hard work, and community leadership that resonate with everything we aim to build at NVFC.

We thank Recycle Your Batteries, MAS+ by Messi, Christine Sinclair, and Jesse Marsch for spending time with our club and creating moments our players will never forget.
