Euro Travel Team Overview

NVFC Academy Co-Director Tony Pensato has been organizing travel teams to Europe since 2004. These trips provide opportunities for NVFC players to compete against top youth prospects in Europe. Players benefit from experiencing the passion and commitment displayed by European players. It’s another level of soccer that must be seen to be appreciated. Players return from the trip with a renewed perspective to their game. The trip includes training sessions run by professional youth coaches and the team attends two top level professional games (one in each country they visit).

The Euro travel team experience encompasses more than soccer. During the two weeks away players are exposed to different European cultures; be it the food, the scenery, the history and the people. There is time built into the schedule for players to walk around different cities allowing them to explore various aspects of the European lifestyle. It is a trip they will remember for the rest of their lives.

Players are selected from the NVFC Academy program. U11 players are evaluated from the beginning of the season in September until final selection in early November. There are multiple factors that play into the selection of the Euro team including a player’s attitude and desire.

USA Travel Team Overview

The USA Travel team is a condensed version of the Euro trip. The objectives are similar, just less travel and fewer days away. This is another opportunity for promising young players to experience the benefits of strong competition and the camaraderie associated with travel teams. Travel destinations and itinerary have not been confirmed, but travel will likely be to a tournament based on the US West coast. Players are selected from the Player Development Academy program. The trip is geared for U11 players.
