North Vancouver FC's U5 KickStart program is a great way to introduce your little one to the game of soccer in a fun, team based non competitive environment. Highlights of the program include:
- Learn the fundamentals of soccer from professional coaches
- Develop gross motor skills such as balance, co-ordination, running and jumping
- Keep your little ones active during the Fall
- Meet new friends by being a on a soccer team
When: Once a week (Typically, Saturday or Sunday or during the evening - TBC)
Duration: From late September to December (off during the winter break) and then January to the end of February
Ages: 4 year olds with 3 year olds accepted
Times: One hour per session, in the mornings or afternoon or evening, depending on the number of teams as assigned
Location: Parkgate Community Centre or Sutherland High School, as assigned
Extras: Each U5 player receives a jersey, shorts and socks.

How do I register?

What is the cost? The cost is $199 for the entire season.
When does the season start and how long does it run for? The season starts in late September and then goes until early December. It then starts up again in January and goes until the end of February.
Are parents encouraged to participate? Absolutely! Parent participation is encouraged during each session.
How is each one hour session structured? Typically the kids do fun and engaging soccer drills for 45 minutes and then remaining 15 minutes is spent playing soccer against their parents. It's a highlight for both kids and parents.
Is the U5 KickStart program for boys only? No! We have a number of girls in the program. It's for both boys and girls to be involved in the beautiful game of soccer.
What does my player need? Players need a water bottle, shin guards and running shoes, if playing inside a gym. If playing outside, cleats are required. Kids soccer equipment can be purchased at local stores such as Canadian Tire, Sportchek or Macey's.
Is there any additional equipment required? No. NVFC supplies all the required equipment. Each team is provided with size 3 balls, cones and pinnies at the beginning of the year. The head coach is responsible for the equipment. Equipment is returned at the end of the season.
My husband would like to coach. What is involved? Each session is run by a NVFC coach; however volunteer coaches (parents) are strongly encouraged to help out during the session. In the event that a NVFC coach is not available, parents are asked to run the session. (Notice is given before the session.)
